Ich lasse dich nicht,
I will not let you go
du segnest mich denn!
unless you bless me!

Ich halte meinen Jesum feste,
I hold my Jesus fast,
Ich laß ihn nun und ewig nicht.
I will not release him now or ever.
Er ist allein mein Aufenthalt,
He alone is my stay,
drum faßt mein Glaube mit Gewalt
thus my faith is vehemently fixed
sein segenreiches Angesicht;
upon his countenance,
rich with blessings;
denn dieser Trost ist doch der beste:
for this comfort is simply the best:

Mein lieber Jesu du,
You, my dear Jesus,
wenn ich Verdruß und Kummer leide,

in Unruh meine Ruh

and in fear my soft bed;
die falsche Welt ist nicht getreu,
