be unto the name of the Most High!
Zion ist noch seine Stadt,

da er seine Wohnung hat,

da er noch bei unserm Samen
here among our seed he still
an der Väter Bund gedacht.

Gottlob! es geht uns wohl!

Gott ist noch unsre Zuversicht,

von Herzen auf ihn bauen,
earnestly building upon him,
daß unser Herz, Mut und Sinn

might cling to him in comfort;
drauf singen wir zur Stund:
to this we sing, at this hour:
